What’s better than watching Reba McEntire’s new sitcom on TV? Watching it filmed live, of course!
McEntire’s upcoming series Happy’s Place will be shot in a classic sitcom style in front of a live studio audience, giving fans an opportunity to watch her do what she does best from just feet away.
Filming on Happy’s Place kicks off August 20 on the Universal Studios lot in Los Angeles. The production company is filling seats (and ditching the laugh track) by offering tickets to those who want to attend a taping. Keep in mind that reserving a ticket does not guarantee admittance. According to the 1iota website, passes are “issued in excess of capacity,” meaning if there are no seats available on the day of your reservation, you’re sadly out of luck.

Happy’s Place, which McEntire will star in with boyfriend Rex Linn and former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman, follows Bobbi (McEntire) as she deals with the fallout from her father’s death, which results in her inheriting a bar with a half-sister she didn’t know she had.
The multihyphenate will also voice the show’s theme song.
“I love the sitcom genre. Of all the things I get to do, this is my favorite,” McEntire said during an appearance at the 2024 Summer Television Critics Association Press Tour. “And to get to work with these folks, that’s icing on the cake.”
Reba is making a return to The Voice this fall too, but, in her spare time, she’s on set portraying Bobbie, a woman who inherits her father’s restaurant business and discovers her new business partner is a sister she didn’t know she had. The country music super star is no stranger to the television world, after appearances on Reba, Young Sheldon, and Big Sky. But fans are excited to see her back in an acting role.
Good news: You can be a part of the studio audience, and tickets are free! To request tickets to a filming of Happy’s Place, you need to visit 1iota and set up an account. Then, you choose your date. The series currently has the following filming dates scheduled: August 20 and 27, September 4, 17, and 24, October 8, 15, and 22, and November 5, 12, and 19.

Fans can request up to 4 tickets, and you’ll then receive an email saying your request has been received. You’ll receive another email if your ticket request is granted.
A few notes: Audience members must be 18 years old, and they are required to present a valid ID or passport for entry. 1iota mentions that entry is not guaranteed, even if you have a ticket, so you should show up early. The show films at the Universal Studios lot in Los Angeles, California. If you’re planning a trip to the area, it’s worth a try!
