The Price Is Right fans recently spotted a major flaw in one of the pricing games, with many calling for it to be removed before the new season of the show comes on. So, what flaw did viewers spot this time around?

The Price Is Right Has Been Around A Long Time

Generations of viewers have grown up with The Price Is Right. Many viewers who currently watch the show first started watching it with their parents or grandparents. In this aspect, the popular game show has been part of households for decades. The show is actually the longest-running game show in American history.

The Price Is Right is currently on a break for host Drew Carey and the rest of the crew. While reruns are on the air, this is also the perfect time for watchers to analyze their favorite game show, including going through it with a fine-tooth comb.

Game Too Difficult On The Show?

The mini-game 3 Strikes made its debut on The Price Is Right all the way back on February 12, 1976. Since its debut, it has become one of the most difficult games on the show. In this game, there are eight baseballs. Three of them have an “X.” The other five have numbers on them.

When a player draws a ball with a number on it, they must place it in a slot in order to get close to the price of a new car. If they place the number in the wrong spot, the ball goes back in a drum with the other balls and they have another chance.

The game repeats until they either get the price of the car correct or until they draw each of the three strike balls marked with the “X.”

The Price Is Right Fans Spot Major Loophole?

Even though 3 Strikes is a notoriously hard game to win, many viewers called out a major flaw in the game.

The way many viewers see it, there is a taped number on the balls that are non-strike balls. So, in theory, when the player reaches into the baseball drum after giving it a spin, they could technically feel the numbers on the balls to keep from picking a strike.

One viewer said: “The only concern I have with…letting the contestant place [the balls] in the bag themselves is that they could somehow mark the balls…to make the strikes easier to identify.”
Another The Price Is Right viewer added: “This game has a flaw that can make the win rate skyrocket.”

It’ll be interesting to see if changes come before the new season of the show premieres in the fall.
