Britain’s Got Talent was forced to stop its show this evening as the crowd boos drowned out the judges.

Shadow puppet act Matteo was performing this evening as the contestants fought for a place in the grand final this Sunday. He gave a great performance, which included Dec Donnelly and had the audience and judges cheering along.

However, when it came to being given feedback, Matteo received less than complimentary comments from Alesha Dixon. She said that it didn’t set her on fire like the audition had done, with the other judges shocked by her evaluation.

As she tried to continue, the audience booed so loudly that even Simon was shocked and she had to pause speaking so she could be heard. Ant and Dec took a moment before asking Simon Cowell what he thought too.

Simon then went on to say to that everyone had a different opinion, before saying that he loved the performance. Fans at home also loved the routine, with one writing: “If you think the shadow puppet guy isn’t genius, you can f*** off into space. #BGT.” A second added: “I thought the shadow puppetry was best thing so far #BritainsGotTalent.” A third penned: “Oh it’s a joy to see you again Matteo. I think I like shadow puppets now. Loved all the stuff you did with Dec as well.”

Matteo has 47,000 followers on social media and performs his shadow artist act all over the world. Fans were thrilled with his performance tonight, with one writing: “Another great performance from Matteo! His talent is unique, but it was certainly worth the watch! The impressions he did tonight were great, he absolutely nailed Simon.

“I loved how he involved Dec halfway through the act too, the impressions he did with him were also great. I don’t know what Alesha was missing about the act, but this is why they have more than one judge on the panel! I enjoyed it though.” Another wrote: “We need him in final this is the variety we need in the final for good show he was brilliant and it’s something different.”
