Tom Felton Wishes This Draco Malfoy Scene Made It Into Harry Potter

Tom Felton reveals which Draco Malfoy scene he would’ve liked to keep in the Harry Potter films.

Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, reveals that he would’ve kept one Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets scene. The actor has always been happy to discuss his time on the popular franchise and gushed about the films.

In an interview with E! News, Tom Felton also addressed the changes he would’ve made to the series. Felton played the villain Malfoy in all eight films, and had one wish for his second film. The deleted scene showed him and his onscreen father, Lucius Malfoy, played by Jason Isaacs.
“I think the films were perfect in their own way,” he explained. “And they know a lot more about it than I do, I was only 13. But there’s a scene with me — and it’s actually the first time I’ve worked with ‘Dad’ — at Borgin and Burkes. I think it’s on one of the DVDs as a deleted scene.” The scene, which appears on extended versions of the film, has Draco exploring the dark magic shop Borgin and Burkes from Knockturn Alley before Lucius reminds him to “touch nothing.”

“If I could go back and redo things,” Felton continued, “obviously there are things that I look back at myself as an 11-year-old and cringe and go, ‘What are you doing?’ But other than that, I think they told the stories perfectly.” He went to explain that his relationship with Isaacs is so strong that they still refer to each other as family. “I still call him dad, Jason Isaacs,” Tom revealed. “Jason’s been a dear friend and mentor — he’s a terrible father onscreen, but a wonderful best friend to have offscreen.”

Tom Felton Recently Offered Advice to the Next Draco Malfoy

The Harry Potter films aren’t without any faults. There are multiple storylines from the seven books that were changed, replaced, or completely ignored. With Harry Potter still drawing a huge audience, Warner Bros. confirmed in April 2023 that the IP would be turned into a new adaptation, this time for TV, set to premiere on its streaming service, Max. However, one of the things fans agree with is that the eight Harry Potter films had a perfect cast.

Although there is no official confirmation about the cast for the Harry Potter TV reboot, Tom Felton recently offered his thoughts to the next Draco Malfoy. “I’m not sure I’m equipped to give advice to anyone. I think Jason Isaacs, I’m pretty sure one of his first pieces of advice was, ‘Don’t take advice from anyone,'” he said.

Felton continued, “I would only say take more pictures and try and steal more props. I’m joking about the last one, but take more pictures because when I find one that I haven’t seen for a long time now, it reminds me of how much fun we were having. Bearing in mind, we didn’t have camera phones then or anything like that, so it’s a bit easier now.”
