Cowell and Silverman met and became friends in 2004, but they didn’t publicly confirm a romantic relationship until 2013, when they were preparing for parenthood.
After introducing the world to their son, Eric in 2014, the couple’s relationship grew, though they still tended to keep their romance out of the public eye.

“One hundred percent, he had to coach me,” Cowell revealed. “And we planned it. He was a big part of it.”
Details of Cowell and Silverman’s upcoming wedding have been kept on the down-low, but the AGT fan favorite has spoken out about a desire to have a quiet, intimate ceremony.
“I am planning it all, otherwise I know what will happen: There will be 600 people and it’ll get out of control, like my 50th birthday party,” Cowell teased in a 2022 interview with The Sun. “No one knows when it’s going to be, that’ll be a surprise, even for Lauren.”

Who is Simon Cowell’s son, Eric Cowell?
Cowell and Silverman welcomed their son, Eric Philip Cowell, on February 14, 2014. Eric was named after Cowell’s late father, People reported, and is a nod to the close father-son bond Cowell enjoyed growing up, a relationship he hopes to foster with his own kid.
“After I lost my parents, I genuinely felt … I would never feel that kind of love for anyone ever again. I thought that was it … until I saw the scan of him for the first time,” Cowell revealed during a 2022 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “From that moment I saw the scan, I was like, ‘That is it, I’m besotted.’ Now, I just cannot imagine my life without him. He’s the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him.”
In a 2022 interview with The Sun, Cowell further explored the exponential impact Eric has on his life and outlook on family.
“I’m a very different man to the one I was 10 years ago,” Cowell explained. “Eric changed everything, to be honest… It almost hurts how much you love them. Then you start thinking, ‘When he grows up, what’s his dad going to have done?’ I think about that a lot.”
