Simon Cowell has revealed his nine-year-old son Eric could appear as a guest judge on America’s Got Talent as he makes plans to shake-up the judging panel.
The doting father, 64, has been inspired by audiences calling for Eric and the children of his fellow judges Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel to give their take on the talent.
Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com at a press conference about whether he would welcome Eric onto the panel, he said: ‘Now you mention it. Yes. I think I would.
‘In fact, you’re going to see this happen in the UK. There was an act where the audience got so hyped up about it. They were kind of encouraging Eric and [Britain’s Got Talent judge] Amanda Holden‘s daughter to press the golden buzzer.’

Simon will return to screens on May 28 alongside Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel for the next season of America’s Got Talent
He continued: ‘And the next thing I see, the two of them come flying up. They press it, I’m like… and I looked at the producers.
‘They went, “It got buzzed”, so he’s done his first one. And he absolutely loved it.’
Simon then added: ‘So to your point, a hundred percent, I think it would be great seeing kids as judging kids, seeing it from their perspective because they’ve all got opinions.’
Simon shares Eric with his fiancée Lauren Silverman, 46, while Heidi has children Henry, 18, Johan, 16, and Lou, 13, with her ex-husband Seal. The singer also legally adopted her eldest daughter Leni, 19, whose biological dad is Italian businessman Flaviore Briatore.
Sofia is mother to son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, 32, while Howie is father to daughters Jackie, 39, and Riley, 31, and son Alex, 33.
When asked what Eric might be like as a judge, Simon replied: ‘I think you can see whether it’s over there or in the audience. We have a lot of young kids now who watch the show, and so I’m always looking around the audience to see what they like or what they don’t like.
He continued: ‘Because with kids, they either like something or they don’t like something. There’s no kind of in-between.

‘So I guess I’ve learned a lot from him and his friends. I see what makes them laugh.’
Simon shocked fans in summer 2013 when it was revealed he was expecting a child with American socialite Lauren, who was then married to real estate mogul Andrew Silverman.
He has welcomed Eric onto his competition shows, making for many sweet moments over the years.
In January, BGT judge Amanda described Eric as a ‘a chip off the old block’ as she claimed he is living up to his father’s reputation as TV’s Mr Nasty.
Reminiscing about the moment Eric joined the BGT judging panel, one audience member speaking to the Mirror claimed Eric told a choir: ‘I didn’t really like the first bit, but I liked the second bit’.

Amanda is said to have turned to the crowd and said: ‘He’s a chip off the old block!’
The radio host then encouraged her daughter Hollie, 12, to also take a seat on the judging panel.
Hollie reportedly told the choir, a group of teachers and children from disadvantaged areas, called Teacher’s Rock: ‘I think it was inspirational and a fantastic performance.’
Meanwhile fellow BGT judge Alesha Dixon’s daughter Azura, nine, said: ‘There was a lot of good energy.’
The 19th season of America’s Got Talent began production in March and is slated to premiere on NBC on May 28.
