‘Jeopardy!’ Host Ken Jennings Takes Swipe at ‘The Price Is Right’

We love a little game show drama! During Tuesday night’s episode of Jeopardy, host Ken Jennings wasted no time throwing shade at quiz show rival The Price Is Right.

While introducing contestant Greg Snyder, Jennings, who was officially appointed host alongside Mayim Bialik last summer, pointed out that it wasn’t Snyder’s first rodeo in the quiz show realm.

“About 15 years ago, I was lucky enough to get picked on The Price Is Right where I won a car right before Pontiac went out of business,” Snyder told the audience of the Drew Carey-led game show, adding that the car’s value ultimately “went down.”

He went on to admit that his time on Jeopardy is “a thousand times better,” before claiming that it’s “so much more fun.”

In one final dig, Snyder quipped, “Anybody can be on The Price Is Right. You gotta work to be on Jeopardy,” to which Jennings fired back, “We didn’t just pull you out of the crowd today, Greg. You didn’t come in with a uniform or a funny sign. But that doesn’t hurt.”

Unfortunately for Snyder, he didn’t do as well on Jeopardy as he had during his previous game show stint. By the end of the episode, he had come in third place behind four-day champion Matthew Marcus and second-place winner Carolyn Shivers, earning a mere $1,000.

Jennings, who holds the Jeopardy record for the longest winning streak, has never been one to hold back. Late last year, he joked that the show had “shafted” him back in 2004 after deeming one of his answers incorrect.

In the viral TikTok clip, Jennings was given the clue about an “immoral pleasure seeker that has the same name as a long-handled garden instrument,” to which he incorrectly responded, “What is a hoe?” instead of “What is a rake?”

“I still think I was shafted, quite frankly,” he said. “I think I’m owed $200 and, you know, maybe the writers should get a pool together.”

Jeopardy airs on weeknights at 7/6c on ABC.
