NSYNC still considering making new music, potential reunion tour
NEW YORK — The members of NSYNC are still considering making new music and a potential reunion tour, two decades after they went their separate ways, and just weeks after Justin Timberlake’s DWI arrest.
Chris Kirkpatrick told Entertainment Tonight on Monday that the boy band has been mulling over such a comeback “for a while.”
“We’re kicking the tires, seeing if the car will still drive, and, you know, we’ll see where it leads,” Kirkpatrick, 52, said at the Lincoln Center premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
“Our fan base and a lot of people still want this, so we can’t disappoint them,” he continued. “It’s not a positive, but it’s a we’ll see.”
Timberlake and Kirkpatrick, as well as Lance Bass, JC Chasez and Joey Fatone, have reunited multiple times in the past year.
They took the stage as presenters at the 2023 VMAs and released “Better Place,” their first track together in 21 years. The song was featured in “Trolls Band Together,” the latest film in the “Trolls” franchise, which also stars Timberlake.
Back in March, the former bandmates even performed together in a surprise set during one of Timberlake’s Los Angeles shows.
Kirkpatrick’s comments come just over a month after the “SexyBack” singer was arrested for driving drunk on Long Island. Timberlake, 43, blew through a stop sign in Sag Harbor in the early hours of June 18, after reportedly partying at the American Hotel. He was arraigned later that morning on a single DWI charge.
Timberlake will not appear in person for his scheduled court appearance on Friday, Patch reported last week. He remains slated to perform the first of two consecutive shows in Krákow, Poland, as part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
Addressing his arrest for the first time on June 22, the “Selfish” singer thanked fans for sticking by him “through ups and downs, and lefts and rights.”
“It’s been a tough week,” he said to the crowd at Chicago’s United Center. “I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep on loving me and I love you right back.”
