Wheel of Fortune fans are demanding a major change be made to the show as they feel it is outdated and unfair. The show has been around for decades and is about to experience a huge shift when Pat Sajak retires. So, what else do viewers want from the show? Keep reading for more details.

Wheel Of Fortune Fans Demand Major Change Be Made

Over the years, Wheel of Fortune has seen many changes and has grown with the times. Vanna White used to physically turn the letters. Then, she just tapped the screens to have the letters pop up and now, it is all done for her so she is just a showpiece of sorts. After over forty years, host Pat Sajak announced he was retiring from the series as the host. This was a huge deal as he had been the face of the iconic game show but times were changing and his personality was not the same as it once was.

Now, come September 2024, Ryan Seacrest will helm the wheel alongside Vanna. She has signed a contract through 2026 so at least there will be some consistency for fans. However, something about the way prizes are done has fans desperate for a change. When someone wins a vacation, the cash value of the trip goes into their general prize pool. According to a Reddit thread, that is something that should be done away with:

I wish the money won for trips weren’t added with their cash wins.

The OP did not elaborate as to why they felt this way but it clearly bothered them. Was it that it was not actual cash that they had won but rather an extra prize that had cash value? Either way, were other Wheel of Fortune viewers tired of this, as well?

They’d have too many times that the winner’s total was too low if the Prize Puzzle trip value wasn’t added on to their winnings.
I agree with you. I’ve always hated that they do this.
We’d have too many people going to the Bonus Round with $8-9,000 which doesn’t look good.

Better Solutions

Wheel of Fortune viewers did understand why the show did this as it upped the players’ prize totals. However, they did feel that the prizes should be better. They had grown tired of them always winning trips and felt they should start doing more The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal prizes:

As for prizes, I wish they’d give away more than just trips. Maybe something like game rooms, home theaters, jewelry and some of the stuff they give away on The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal.

This could be a fun idea but the trips have always been a huge success for the contestants so why change it now? Time will tell if a new host will bring puzzle and prize changes, as well.
