Drew Carey Somehow Kept His Composure After Getting Dropped On The Floor By A Price Is Right Contestant

Drew Carey Price is Right

Highlights

Drew Carey doesn’t enjoy being lifted up by overly excited fans on The Price Is Right, but he handles it with humor and grace.
Superfans on the show, who keep track of details like Bob Barker’s wardrobe, have proven to be tough competition for Carey and the show’s budget.
Despite some unexpected moments, Carey always manages to laugh them off, much to the delight of fans who appreciate his lighthearted approach.

The Price Is Right has featured so many memorable moments. Among the very top included Bob Barber’s final episode, and all the emotions involved. Prior to taking over, Barker shared some rules with the new host at the time, Drew Carey. Barker advised Drew to make the show his own, and not try to duplicate what was done in the past.

Drew has succeeded while creating his own memorable moments. Among the viral videos includes Drew Carey getting picked up by contestants. To no surprise, Carey isn’t all that fond of the moment, and we understand why. We’ll take a look back at one instance that saw Carey get dropped by a contestant who was just too excited to have appeared on the show in his presence. Carey could not have handled the situation any better.

Drew Carey Revealed The Part He Hates The Most About Price Is Right Is Being Picked Up By Super Fans

Drew Carey Price Is Right

Drew Carey is clearly having a blast on The Price Is Right. However, the host did admit that there are certain aspects of the show he isn’t fond of. At the very top of the list, is fans getting overly hyped once they make it onto the show. Carey is not a fan of contestants lifting him up in particular.

Carey reveals, “The only thing I don’t like is when dudes pick me up and spin me around.”

However, Drew stated that the superfans are unmatched compared to others on the show. Carey recalls the superfans cleaning house, compared to others like intellectuals.

Carey reveals, “A 19-year-old international grandmaster at chess. The guy with the highest IQ at Mensa. Some neurosurgeon that invented a brain thing — I don’t even know what it is. It’s so over my head. They made all the same mistakes that a regular audience would make,” Drew said.

“Then we had these superfans on. I’m not going to spoil the show for you, but they cleaned our clocks. We’ve been over budget ever since. There were people who kept spreadsheets! This guy would watch all the Bob Barker episodes — that’s all he does — and he keeps track of what tie Bob was wearing, what suit, who and what, he has a whole spreadsheet at home. That’s the kind of people that were on that show.”Carey clearly sees the value in superfans, and he was able to keep his cool in one particular moment that saw him land on the floor on stage.

Drew Carey Was Dropped By An Excited Contestant But Reacted In The Perfect Way

Price Is Right contestant Christopher was extra happy to make his way onto the stage. He was bold in his bid, blocking two of the other contestants, and placing an $802 bid. Once he got on the stage, Chris showed off his dance moves, and then, his pure strength lifting Drew Carey up as if he was nothing… However, the outcome wasn’t the greatest as Drew Carey lands on the floor, thankfully, without impact and gently.

Once Carey gets up, he can’t stop laughing and the fun doesn’t stop there as the contestant goes in for a kiss and hug. Carey was able to keep his cool and hey, it was better than the time he fell of the stage completely with a contestant. The moment can be viewed in the video below thanks to The Price Is Right YouTube channel.

As expected, fans had a lot to say about the moment, and the way Carey handled it all.

How Did Price Is Right Fans React To The Moment?

Drew Carey Price is Right

We assume Drew Carey wasn’t briefed by the late great Bob Barker in relation to these particular scenarios. Nonetheless, Carey looks prepared for the moments, and is always able to laugh them off. Fans on YouTube also had praise for the host, and the moment in general. Clearly, fans weren’t taking things too seriously, though you can’t help but to feel for Carey regardless, being put in such a position.

One fan writes, “Its amazing how Drew just keeps in smiling. What a character !”

Another fan writes, “DREW ABUSE! DREW ABUSE! DREW ABUSE! You know, if Bob Barker sees that, all of a sudden he’s probably thinking, ”You know, them Samoans weren’t so bad!”

“The lad has a bit of Samoan in him. I bet Bob Barker was watching it and he said “If Samoans picked me up like that I wouldn’t have been able to host 35 years of the show.”

As expected, fans couldn’t help but compare the way Barker might’ve handled the same moment compared to Carey. Given his insane longevity on The Price Is Right, Barker himself certainly saw a bit of everything during his time on the show – and Drew Carey is learning all about that as well, with over a decade of work on the game show, and then some.
