Wheel of Fortune: Ryan Seacrest joins Vanna on hosting duties

Game show  Wheel of Fortune fans have joked that producers of The Price of Right are involved in the show and are ruining it by encouranging contestants to act silly.

The Price of Right is known for its over the top contestants who often act silly, make blunders, say dafts things and scream as they guess the price of merchadise to win cash prizes.

Fans of ABC’s Wheel of Fortune claim that contestants on the new series are acting similarly, and said the show’s new host Ryan Seacrest, who made his debut when the series returned last monthwas encouraging constestants to be overexcited

They sarcastically claimed that the producers of the NBC show, which is behind The Price Is Right, have been employed by ABC in a bid to liven up the show which had a much more sedentary pace when former host Pat Sajak was presenting it.

One said: “Kinda seems like someone is encouraging players to act like complete fools which is going to attract more and more garbage on screen. It won’t be long and someone will find the need to roll on the floor, just wait.”

Another wrote: “I watched one episode. I don’t care for Seacrest, he comes across as very phony to me. I probably won’t watch another.”

A third added: “Makes me think Sajak was the calming influence on production style. He got TV and how it works.”

Others claimed that Seacrest is doing a good job on the show and said his lively personality is what the show needs

One person said: “I think injecting a little energy into it is not a bad thing. I loved Pat. He had a very dry and somewhat corny sensibility. I think that lended the energy to the contestants. I like that Ryan seems excited. Let’s get excited! It’s Wheel of Fortune, not the retirement home quite yet.”

Carey presenting The Price is Right

The comments come after The Price Is Right host Drew Carey claimed many of the contestants are frequently high or drunk when they are on the show.

Drew said: “Oh, that happens here all the time. They’ll have a gummy or I’ll smell alcohol on their breath. Not unusual.”

He also told how one contestant had taken psychedelic drug magic mushrooms before going on the show and was “tripping” when he was live on air.

He said: “I asked him what he did for a living. And he goes, “I’m a skateboarding rabbi.” He didn’t think he was going to get picked, and he totally tripped.”
