How Viewers Really Feel About Wheel of Fortune’s Bright New Set
The show has undergone many changes, including a new host and colorful set.
Wheel of Fortune fans are often vocal about the game show. The show has already undergone many changes, and the new host isn’t the only addition they’ve been talking about.
So Bright You’re Gonna Need Shades
Ryan Seacrest is the new host of America’s Game Show. He replaced veteran game show host Pat Sajak. That’s not the only change that took place on the show. The set underwent a major makeover.
Co-host Vanna White previously spoke to USA Today about the new set. She remarked, “It’s like remodeling your home after 40 years.” Vanna feels the set still feels like “home ” but is “just a little updated.”
WoF fans have spoken out about the new set on Reddit. Most of them are blinded by it. The set has new, colorful features and graphics, and the puzzle board has a gilded backdrop with a modern design.
Some fans called the new graphics “cheap” and “tacky.” Others are disappointed by the removal of the logo and green screen behind the contestants.
“It’s so blue, just pure eye-searing #000ff,” one fan wrote.
A new set is a lot for them to take in. One Redditor joked they need “blue light sunglasses to watch the new season.” That same fan said they “couldn’t even look at the TV; the new set hurts my eyes.”
The new set isn’t a complete disappointment. Most fans love that the show returned to its nostalgic roots by bringing back the gold puzzle board from the late 90s. But there’s just one thing missing: the flashing screen that made it cutting-edge.
“The new puzzle border is supposed to be an ode to the gold borders from way back when. It’s definitely a modern version of them, but I’m disappointed it doesn’t flash,” one user noted.
