Longtime tv star Vanna White rips disrespectful Wheel of Fortune executives as the show plans for the future.

Wheel of Fortune is carving out a future with a new hosting era, after the retirement of longtime host Pat Sajak. After Pat announced plans to retire, speculation ran rampant about who would replace him. Many people assumed his longtime colleague, Vanna White, would step into his shoes. That did not come to pass and executives tapped another Hollywood heavyweight for the gig. Now, Vanna has thoughts about the executives who overlooked her.

Wheel Of Fortune Taps Ryan Seacrest, Not Vanna

Vanna White has been the co-host of Wheel of Fortune alongside Pat Sajak since 1982.

On June 12, Pat announced that he would be retiring after the show’s next season, which kicks off this Fall. Fans of the show immediately began buzzing about who would replace the iconic host. Many people assumed it would be his heir apparent and natural successor, co-host Vanna White.

However, in a surprise move, show executives announced at the end of June that professional host Ryan Seacrest would step into the role instead. According to those who are close to the situation, Vanna White has been left upset with the decision to choose Ryan.

Vanna White Shares Thoughts On Disrespectful Wheel Of Fortune Executives

An insider recently spoke to DailyMail and shared that Vanna was “disappointed” that they didn’t offer her Pat’s job. Additionally, the insider adds, Vanna was upset “that she wasn’t able to give her two cents on the replacement.” According to the source, the longtime tv star thought they wouldn’t make a decision so quickly, so she assumed she had more time to weigh in.

The source added that Vanna does want to be with the show “for as long as she wants to be on the show,” on her terms. She believes that she deserves the chance. However, the source added, it’s an “uphill battle” when money is involved. They mused that the writing appears to be “on the wall.” The insider shares that Vanna White has “nothing but respect” for Ryan Seacrest and will be happy to work alongside him. However, Vanna felt that choosing Ryan showed, “a lack of respect in her eyes that they have for her.”

Insiders say that there is a change in the atmosphere behind the scenes at the show, and Pat may have seen the change in the show’s culture and decided to get out now. Vanna worries that she may be replaceable and would reportedly be “heartbroken” if they don’t offer her a new contract.
