Lance Bass and Britney Spears are related

Lance Bass has discovered a new distant cousin – Britney Spears!

The NSYNC star took part in Ancestry’s ‘2 Lies & a Leaf’ alongside husband Michael Turchin and found out Britney is his sixth cousin once removed.

“Look, I wanted to be related to the Queen (of England) but now I’m related to the Queen of Pop,” he laughed.

“That is so crazy, though, because I feel like she’s my little sister. And this whole time she’s been my little cousin.”

Lance found success with his boyband around the same time Britney became a global phenomenon and he confessed he’s always felt a bond stronger than just friendship with the Lucky hitmaker.

“For some reason, I always felt like we looked like family when we were kids,” he said. “This means so much to me.

“She is like family to me. So, the fact that we are blood-related is amazing.”

Earlier this year, NSYNC tweeted their support for Britney amid her ongoing conservatorship battle, writing in a short post: “Also… #FreeBritney.”

It comes after Justin, who dated the singer from 1999 to 2002, took to Twitter back in June to react to the singer’s shocking testimony about the conservatorship.

Insisting the situation is “just not right,” he tweeted: “After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time. Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right.

“No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body. No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for.

“Jess [Biel, wife] and I send our love, and our absolute support to Britney during this time. We hope the courts, and her family make this right and let her live however she wants to live.”
