When promoting the new season last September, Wheel of Fortune told fans that there would be “Wheel’s very first tournament.”

This is something viewers have been wanting for a while, as Jeopardy! has its own tournament of champions event.

On Reddit, fans slammed the show for never going on to have the tournament, as promised.

“There needs to be a week that involves former contestants coming back,” one user wrote.

“We were promised a tournament in Season 39 and they decided not to do it after all even though they publicly announced it in promos and thought nobody would remember.”

Fans blamed host Pat Sajak for the reversal of the change, pointing out that he’s never seemed to want it.

A Redditer said: “Wheel of Fortune deserves a special second chance week way more than Jeopardy! does, and yet that show is getting one before Wheel.

“Yet the concept of having champions or tournaments on Wheel is always dismissed by Pat and others because of how luck can screw over people with good puzzle solving potential.”

Another annoyed viewer tweeted about it, sharing a clip of the host and hostess Vanna White discussing how international editions of WoF hold champion tournaments but they don’t.

In the video, Pat said: “They have an interesting format because every fourth episode, they have a final where the three winners of the previous shows play, and then they donate to charity.”

Vanna replied: “That’s awesome! I like it.”

Pat just said: “Yeah, it is. Yeah, but we’re not gonna do that.”

The upset Twitter user wrote with the clip: “Pat and Vanna: ‘Bringing winners back to play again is an awesome idea! But we’re never, ever doing it. End of story, even if our international counterparts do.’

“Then you shouldn’t have promised us a tournament last September!”

Last week, the 75-year-old TV personality was blasted for a remark he made toward hostess Vanna White.

Toward the end of the episode, they were into their Final Spin moment of the game show.

After a few turns of Vanna walking from one side of the puzzle board to the other to reveal the letters, Pat got a little cheeky with her.

One contestant called out the letter N and Pat shared that there were two of them.

Before he even finished saying so, the heel-clad hostess had already started walking to light up the correct letters on the board.

Apparently, Vanna wasn’t doing so quick enough for Pat, though, as with a bit of humor in his voice, he asked: “Could ya move a little faster?”

She quickly finished up and looked back over at him with a slight smile, with the players all awkwardly laughing a little, too.

Fans were angry with the host, with one viewer tweeting: “I’ve never heard Pat tell Vanna to ‘move a little faster’ during the show!”

Another said: “Pat tells Vanna ‘move a little faster’ during speed-up. Oh Pat!”

A third upset watcher wrote: “Pat Sajak just told Vanna White to hurry up.

“B***h, I will shank you. You don’t get snotty with a national treasure.”

“Are you watching wheel rn,” another asked. “Pats out here disrespecting our girl Vanna.”

Just a few weeks earlier, viewers slammed Pat for an “inappropriate question” he asked Vanna on the show.

It all started innocently enough, as Pat asked his longtime co-star if she was an “opera buff?”

Vanna, 65, replied: “I’m not a buff, but I like opera.”

That’s when the Chicago native made a regretful ad-lib.

“Have you ever watched opera in the buff?” Sajak poked, adding, “I’m just curious.”

Vanna responded with a “No,” and forced out a laugh.
