Wheel of Fortune accidentally reveals behind-the-scenes secret with editing mistake

Wheel of Fortune fans are calling out more errors during the Ryan Seacrest era.

The Ryan Seacrest era of Wheel of Fortune has officially begun, and unfortunately for the new host, fans are picking up on several errors–including an editing snafu that accidentally exposed one of the show’s behind-the-scenes secrets.

Fans have been quick to call out the show’s changes to the set, as well as point out their disdain for Seacrest as a whole.

They also haven’t hesitated to point out that the show let a glaring mistake slide on Seacrest’s first episode.

They took to Reddit as they noticed a glaring error in editing.

Wheel of Fortune

Pointing out what appeared to be a spin edit during a regular round of game play, those who happened to be at the actual taping chimed in, admitting that the show had edited out a huge amount of bad spins.

“I was at the taping. They edit out whenever there are three (or six) lost turns in a row that don’t add letters or change anyone’s score,” one person wrote.

“Blue (player Promise) hit the Bankrupt (and lost no money to it), Red (player Andrew) spun $700 and called a wrong S, then Yellow (player Airica) spun $850 and called a wrong R,” they added.

“This is why they will never show the used letters on screen,” they concluded.

The error came after fans pointed out that a contestant mispronounced the answer to a puzzle on Seacrest’s debut episode–but was still awarded the prize money.

Wheel of Fortune

Fans were furious that the mistake was allowed to slide, after contestants in previous episodes were penalized for the same thing.

At the end of the night, the same contestant who made the error went on to the bonus round, where he lost.

He ended the night with a near $26,000 win.
