Naomi, Wynonna Judd reveal $3Xual abuse past after Ashley Judd makes similar claims in memoir

Hot on the heels of Ashley Judd‘s revelation that she was $3Xually abused as a child, mother Naomi and sister Wynonna have come forward to say the same.

Ashley’s memoir, “All That Is Bitter And Sweet,” was released Tuesday, and details not only her sordid $3Xual past, but also her dysfunctional relationships with the rest of the Judd family.

Naomi and Wynonna, whose documentary series called “The Judds” premieres on OWN Sunday, opened up to the co-hosts of “The View” Thursday about their complicated pasts.

“I never told a single soul until about two years ago,” Naomi, 65, said, recounting the therapy session where she revealed her first memory is of being $3Xually abused as a young child.

Wynonna, 46, said she found out about her mother’s experience in front of the cameras for their show, which made her uncomfortable.

“This is such a personal thing,” she said, “but I think we’re willing to step out on faith and hope that it helps someone else to tell someone because there is a lot of shame and secrecy, and it shows that everyone in our family that this is affecting us [and] to watch out for the next generation.”

When Walters asked Wynonna if she was $3Xually abused, too, the singer answered in the affirmative as Naomi wiped away tears.

Wynonna further added that she understands people are surprised that she and her family are putting their “crap out there,” but she explained she’s “sick and tired of the problem” of $3Xual abuse.

“I want to be part of the solution,” she said.

There’s “the shame and the guilt of people thinking they had something to do with it or earned it in some way” that keeps victims from speaking up, Wynonna said.

“The veil has been lifted,” she said. “There are no more secrets. We can now live in truth and we don’t have to worry about someone going on VH1 [‘Behind the Music’] and telling our story for us.”

The mother-daughter duo also discussed 42-year-old Ashley’s memoir.

“People are trying to almost pin us against each other,” Wynonna said. “And I wanted to come out today and say, listen, we agree to disagree in our family. But we show up because we support each other for who we are.”

Naomi admitted she agreed “in a way” with Ashley’s claims that she was neglected as a child, but added that “I adore my daughter.”

“These two girls, and my husband of course, are the joy of my life,” she said. “I support Ashley.”

Added Wynonna, “We’re allowing each of us to have a voice.

“We all have three different realities of the same car ride to the nightmares we were in,” she said, “and it’s her turn to tell her side of the story.”
