Reba McEntire’s new show lands a premiere date
All eyes will be on Reba McEntire this fall, literally.
The country music icon’s heavily anticipated NBC sitcom “Happy’s Place” has finally snagged a premiere date. Good news considering fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting to find out when to tune in.
According to a statement from NBC on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Happy’s Place” will premiere on Oct. 18 and will be available to watch on NBC and stream on Peacock.
Multiple producers who worked on McEntire’s 2000s sitcom “Reba” have returned to work on this new show. Even Melissa Peterman – who played the character Barbra Jean in “Reba” – will co-star on the new sitcom.
Also included in the casting for the new show is McEntire’s real-life boyfriend Rex Linn, per NBC.
This wouldn’t be the first time the two will be together on screen though.
After first meeting on the set of the Kenny Rogers movie “The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw” back in 1991, they’ve also appeared together in “Young Sheldon” and the ABC drama “Big Sky,” per Taste of Country.
As previously reported, “Happy’s Place” will be focused on main character Bobbie (McEntire), who inherited her father’s restaurant but finds out her new business partner is a half-sister (Belissa Escobedo) she never knew about.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, McEntire discussed her experience filming the new sitcom and what fans should look forward to regarding the new show.
“It’s lots of fun. I love all genres of entertainment. But the sitcoms are so much fun, cause it’s a brand new script every week. And you’re just having fun. It’s really hard memorizing dialogue you have to do, but it ain’t my first rodeo. I do love it. And it’s just playtime. We have a blast with it,” she told the outlet.
“It’s gonna be that heartfelt, fun, funny, laugh at our silliness. But also, [you’ll] be touched with the heart in our show,” she said.
