In 2007, Barker retired from hosting The Price Is Right at age 87, with Carey soon continuing to carry the torch.

After Barker passed away at age 99 in 2023, in a tribute post on Twitter, Carey said, “Very sad day for The Price Is Right family, and animal lovers worldwide. I will carry his memory in my heart forever.” The hashtag #RIPBobBarker accompanied his heartfelt message.

“How sad he seem like a wonderful man my mother and I would watch him on The Price is Right had such a love for animals may he rest in peace and Drew continues on with his legacy I love you drew keep up the good work,” one fan replied in response to Carey’s post.
