LEGENDARY Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak has reached his final week on the beloved game show.

During his over 40 years on the game show, the host has had some great moments – here we take a look back.

His final show aired on June 7 after he announced his retirement last season.

Ryan Seacrest will take his place as host and will most likely have some funny moments on the show, just like Pat.

Co-host Vanna White and social correspondent Maggie Sajak will also return.

TOOTH MUCH

College Week standout Razel got to inspect Pat’s teeth live on air.

Since graduating, Razel revealed that she got into dental school.

Pat cut her off mid-sentence and walked over to her place at the wheel.

Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Although Pat and Vanna have been a staple on the game show for decades, there have been other hosts

Chuck Woolery was the host from 1975 to 1981

He co-hosted alongside Susan Stafford (1975 to 1982)

Vanna White then stepped in as hostess in 1982 and has been ever since

After a contract and salary dispute, the show got rid of Chuck and brought in Pat in 1982

Pat hosted with Susan for one season

He then left the game show in 1989 to host a late-night talk show for CBS

For five months, NFL player Rolf Benirschke took his place

In July 1989, Bob Goen hosted the show on CBS

He hosted for a year and a half until the show was canceled in 1991

The show was then moved to ABC with Pat and Vanna hosting for the foreseeable future

In 2023, Pat announced his retirement and Ryan Seacrest as quickly named as his replacement

TIE GAME

In April, Pat was feeling generous and gave one of the contestants a piece of his clothing.

At the top of the show, he talked to contestant Willie, who had “said some nice things about his clothes.”

“Yes, I’m a fashionable guy myself, and I take note of what you wear, and your stylist is doing a great job,” Willie told Pat.

Pat said that he appreciated it as he adjusted his gold tie.

“Willie likes me!” the host added.

Willie did not have the highest score of the night, and therefore, did not win any money, but he didn’t go home empty-handed.

When Pat approached the contestant to dismiss him, he handed him a bonus prize.

“Hang on. I’m not ignoring your handshake,” he said as he removed his tie and gave it to Willie.

“A man who appreciates – I’m gonna give you a bonus prize, all yours, Willie!”

“Awws” could be heard in the audience.

Fans on social media said that the moment was really moving.

SAJAK SHUFFLE

One month prior, Pat got his groove on as he danced behind a contestant.

Courtney from Long Island, New York, had just won every single wedge that was on the wheel.

She even won the million-dollar wedge, which Pat pointed out matched her outfit.

“You’re dressed for it, that’s for sure! Look at that pile of stuff she’s got,” he said.

Pat exclaimed that he “didn’t know where to start” as Courtney gathered up her wedges.

He then joined the contestant behind the wheel and grabbed two of her wedges.

Pat then positioned himself behind her and danced.

Courtney held up the third wedge with a nervous smile.

“She’s got it all! $15,200. We’ll be back!” Pat said as the show cut to a commercial.

SAJACKED UP

Angela was very excited to win the game, which caused the host to mimic her.

Pat invited her to the bonus round as she won by $200.

This is where things took a turn.

Wearing a vibrant yellow top and lively glasses matching her temperament, Angela was ecstatic as Pat stood beside her, holding her hand.

“According to my math, by $200 -” the host began.

However, Angela interrupted him by yelling excitedly, “Shut up!”

Pat, taken aback, shadily turned to look off-screen for a moment.

“You didn’t mean that personally?” he asked, to which Angela assured him she did not.

After Pat dismissed the other two contestants, he turned back to the winner.

A bit louder than Angela did, he screamed, “Shut up!”

Angela looked completely stunned at the host’s actions.

“That’s been a big phrase lately,” he ended.

WHEEL OF WHOOPS

Also in January, Pat admitted he messed up when he stumbled over his words on the cue card.

He began the new year by interviewing Jason, a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

Pat’s mess-up began when he asked Jason if he was married.

“No, I’m single, actually,” a baffled Jason replied.

“You know, I’m sorry,” Pat responded before laughing.

The host seemingly put his cards in the wrong order as he shuffled through them.

“I just messed up a card, hold on,” Pat said, having Jason stand by.

Pat made another joke while trying to fix his cards and said, “So you’re a circus acrobat, I see?”

Finally, the host got to the right information about Jason and carried on with the game.

“Nice to have you, Jason, forgive me, but it’s been a New Year’s weekend. You have to understand,” Pat ended.

PAT HITS THE MAT

The contestant, Fred, got every puzzle correct as well as the Bonus Round.

The drama teacher had explained his wrestling skills early on in the game.

Fred had the highest score by the end in a blowout, and upon dismissing the other contestants Pat hilariously sounded like he was actually looking for a smackdown.

“You brute!” the host said.

“You want me to body slam him for you? I can do that.”

Fred then selected “Phrase” of the three categories for the special extra round.

The four-word puzzle was nothing Fred couldn’t take down as on his third guess he got it as “his mind is wandering.”

“There you go!” Pat announced, giving Fred another $40,000.

As Fred began celebrating, Pat rushed over and put his arm behind his back, trying to suplex him.

Pat put the contestant into a chokehold and the audience gasped.

However, he was not able to throw Fred on the ground.

When the show came back from commercial, Pat joked to Vanna White that he used to wrestle professionally.

Jamie from California proved early on that she liked to have fun.

When she made it to the Bonus Round, things got wild.

Jamie chose the category “Place” and wound up with half of the letters on the board.

She guessed “quiet neighborhood” right before the buzzer went off and was correct.

Celebrating her win, Jamie flashed a huge smile as she twerked on Pat.

The host was not expecting it and stood there speechless.

After a bit, he asked, “Did she just butt-bump me?”

“I did!” Jamie said, to which Pat distanced himself from her by a few feet.

“…She won a Mazda!” Pat added as the unforgettable player went over to her new car.
