Reba McEntire is making sure she is surrounded by nearest and dearest on her upcoming sitcom!

The country star, 69, told Entertainment Tonight that fans can expect to see both her former Reba costar Melissa Peterman and boyfriend Rex Linn — who she has been dating since 2020 — on her new NBC comedy, Happy’s Place.

“We have been working on trying to get another show since we were canceled on the Reba show,” she explained. “We got to do Malibu Country for one season. We’ve got the same producers, same showrunner, same writers and now we’re back with Melissa Peterman and Rex Linn, my boyfriend, and wonderful, wonderful cast and crew.”

“We had such a good time doing the pilot — we can’t wait to go back,” she gushed of the series, which was order to series.

On May 7, Happy’s Place landed a series order, per Deadline. NBC also shared on Instagram, “we’re cookin’ up something special. #HappysPlace starring @reba is coming soon to NBC and streaming on @peacock.”

In March, Peterman, 52, was first to reveal that the trio would be coming back together for another sitcom.

“This is why I have been smiling ALL the time,” she wrote in a post on Instagram. “I am thrilled to share the news that I get another chance to work with my friends. Buckle up @reba We are going to have some fun!”

Two months prior, NBCUniversal announced that McEntire would helm an untitled pilot for a multi-camera sitcom, more than a decade after her last leading role on a series. Peterman will star as Gabby, the bartender at the establishment who is “a bit needy and dramatic” and would have loved to have been Bobbie’s sister, per the release.

The new NBC sitcom will follow Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister (Belissa Escobedo) she never knew she had, according to a release from the network.

Over 20 years ago, the “I’m a Survivor” artist performed her last leading role of a middle-aged Texan and single mom coming to terms with the recent end of her marriage following her husband’s infidelity and her daughter’s teen pregnancy in Reba. The Emmy-nominated sitcom ran for six seasons on The WB, and later The CW, from 2001 to 2007.
