Sinister creature ‘like Harry Potter elf Dobby’ spotted on CCTV walking up woman’s driveway

A BAFFLED mum was left stunned when CCTV captured a bizarre creature – which looked like Dobby the Elf from the Harry Potter films- outside her home.

American Vivian Gomez was checking out the security cameras which monitor her driveway when she spotted something very, very strange  skipping around near her back door.

However, viewers were quick to point out the incident is probably a prank, pointing to a mystery “second” shadow in the footage.

Stunned Vivian shared the clip on Facebook and wrote: “So I woke up Sunday morning and saw this on my camera and am trying to figure it out.

“First I saw the shadow walking from my front door then I saw this thing….has anyone else seen this on their cameras.

“The other two cameras didn’t pick it up for some reason.”

The bizarre clip appears to show a small figure – most likely a mischievous child wearing a hat- with skinny legs and large ears strolling down her path while doing a little jig.

Whatever the explanation, many Potter fans were eager to celebrate a possible return of Dobby, as the beloved character tragically died in the sixth film ‘Deathly Hallows.’

Maury Wills wrote on Facebook: “Dobby came to make sure you are safe!”

One Twitter user then added: “Everyone’s joking that this is Dobby but I’m here deciding not to go outside at night ever again.”

But some eagle-eyed Twitter users point out that at one stage in the video there appears to be two shadows which suggests someone could be operating an elf-like puppet.

Another explanation offered was that the weird figure was superimposed onto the footage using some clever camera trickery.

Reactions to Dobby’s death were so emotional that writer J.K. Rowling was moved to apologise on Twitter in 2018 for killing off the “free” elf.

“This year, I apologise for killing someone who didn’t die during the #BattleofHogwarts, but who laid down his life to save the people who’d win it. I refer, of course, to Dobby the house elf,” she wrote.
