Carey recounted instances where contestants had “a gummy” or smelled of alcohol, and even one who was “tripping on mushrooms.” He humorously shared a story of a self-proclaimed “skateboarding rabbi” who was high on mushrooms during his appearance on the show.

Despite these behind-the-scenes revelations, Carey continues to uphold the show’s tradition of promoting responsible pet ownership, adding his own message to the closing sign-off: “Take care of yourself, especially your mental health. It’s so important, and I love you!”

This personal addition stems from Carey’s own struggles with mental health. He emphasized the importance of seeking help and finding tools to cope with depression and grief.
