The Price is Right fans rage at contestant’s ‘obnoxious’ behavior and beg producers to change ‘maddening’ show format

THE Price Is Right fans have urged the show to change a part of its format as viewers say a contestant took it too far.

On the show, the players often bid $1 more than their rival contestants, it’s seen as a dependable strategy on The Price is Right.

One person on the Monday airing had watchers saying they acted out of hand.

The contestant being criticized by viewers was Danielle Wagner.

The player was the first person of the night to be called down to the stage.

She didn’t win anything in the first two rounds of Contestant’s Row.

That’s when she changed up her strategy using the $1 bid method.

The tactic she used involves a contestant bidding just one dollar higher than the amount the competing player says.

They do this to try and secure a win without going over the actual retail price.

Though it can be a risky strategy, it often pays off if other contestants have overestimated their bids – for Danielle, it did.

She came closest to the price in the game.

Danielle won trips out of the country ultimately with the technique but a number of fans didn’t like the way she went about the victor.

Drew Carey helps Price is Right contestant spin wheel in sweet moment – but the host’s help cost her big money

The player won trips to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Auckland, New Zealand.

Despite her reason to celebrate, fans quickly went to social media to share their thoughts.

“I understand it’s a game and it is ~strategy~ but to bid $1 over the same person multiple times seems kind of shiesty to me,” a viewer wrote on the Price is Right forum.

The Price is Right Hosts

The Price is Right first came on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on for over 50 years. Throughout that time, the show has had a few different hosts.

Find out who they are below:

Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)
Drew Carey – October 2007 to present
Dennis James – filled in for Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also hosted the nighttime version
Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools Day Special

“Then to win it all this way? I guess all is fair in love and war. It’s a ruthless world out there, Drew,” another added referring to the show’s host, Drew Carey.

The contestant only bid $1 more than the previous person’s try on three separate occasions.

“Absolutely maddening,” a fan stated.

“I wanted her to lose so badly. I was really rooting for the kid. But, I knew the he was either dead on or over. If only he bid $500 less! Sad day.”

“For me, it was her attitude and somewhat odd behaviour,” another person said.

“Her scrunched up smile and little happy dance felt arrogant in some way…. Maybe because people usually show some sort of remorse or grace for $1-ing when they win, and she was just like yay me! I did it,

“Whilst the other person literally provided her with her bid.”

While that contestant is taking the heat from annoyed fans online, host Drew has been accused of making a player miss out on their prize.

After it was the game show contestant’s turn to spin the wheel a few times, they needed assistance.

The host noticed the player struggling to get the wheel to move.

Drew asked if he could help them out and when he assisted them with the spin, the wheel got all the way around but landed on 15, which warranted another spin.

“I’ll take the blame for that. Ronnie, I’m so sorry,” Drew told her while shaking her hand.
