The Price is Right host Drew Carey offered to take one contestant to lunch – but crushed her hopes by immediately taking it back.

The Price is Right host Drew Carey offered to take one contestant to lunch – but crushed her hopes when he confessed it was a joke.

During yesterday’s episode of the hit CBS game show, Carey took the woman named Emilia to a giant vending machine and gave her hints on three items’ prices.

“Here’s the only thing I can tell you about the items in the vending machine,” he said. “The only hint I can give you. The aloe drink, in case you have an ache in your tummy, the aloe drink is the least expensive thing in the vending machine.”

He added: “The ice cream bars, the most expensive thing. This is right in the middle [pointing to the bag of Cracker Jacks in the middle], least expensive, most expensive.”

The narrator then gave the exact weight of each item.

Carey continued to say: “Emilia, welcome to CBS. Since I’m kind of a big shot around here, during the day, I’m going to take you out to lunch. Alright?”

Emilia yelled in excitement as did the crowd.

She said: “I’ll take that any day!”

Carey added jokingly: “But because I only have daytime money, I’m taking you to the vending machine.”

He then instructed Emilia to put the coin he gave her in the slot in the vending machine.

It revealed that there were nine aloe drinks, six Cracker Jacks bags, and four boxes of ice cream bars.

“For an amazing trip to Scotland, which shelf is the most expensive shelf?” Carey asked her.

Emilia picked the ice cream bars and she chose correctly, with the bars totaling $23.16.

She won the trip to Scotland and jumped up and down with glee.

Fans on YouTube congratulated Emilia on her win, with one person writing: “Congrats Emilia! You won a trip to Scotland!”

A second added: “What a great finish!”

A third wrote: “We Have A Double Showcase Winner Today!!!!!!!”

Another penned: “A Good Wednesday Isn’t It?”

Emilia’s reaction to winning was nothing compared to the contestant who recently won multiple high-value prizes after stacking the odds in her favor by correctly answering three questions before the show’s rat race game, allowing an entry of three out of the competition’s five toy rats.

Kennisee from Tennessee, jumped for joy and ran offscreen toward her new car when one of her chosen colors, a blue rat, barely scored first place.

Producers showed her winning a new Mitsubishi Mirage, a compact hatchback vehicle starting at $16,695.

The contestant also won a new Xbox video game console.
