‘The Price Is Right’ Shocks Viewers With Historic Double Lucky Move

The Price Is Right stunned viewers yesterday with a historic moment. Two competitors on the long-running game show spun $1 on the Big Wheel twice during the same day, a feat Yahoo Entertainment deemed “completely unheard of.”

If you’re not familiar, it’s a pretty big deal to land on the $1 mark on The Price Is Right‘s iconic wheel. When contestants are lucky enough to pull it off, they automatically are rewarded with $1,000. And in the rare case a contestant hits the dollar mark twice, their prize is even bigger: $25,000.

Yesterday’s Price Is Right was one for the books thanks to two competitors: Kiara Thomas and Jack Zager. During her first toss up prize, Thomas bid the correct amount and earned herself $500. And when it came time for her first go at the Big Wheel, she spun 20 cents and 80 cents, securing a $1,000 prize plus an invite to the the Showcase Showdown. On her bonus spin, she landed on the $1 mark, earning the coveted additional $25,000.

Zager, who competed during The Price Is Right at Night, spun 40 cents and 60 cents on the Big Wheel, taking home that $1,000 bonus. But he wasn’t done — after his second spin landed him $1 again, he was awarded the $25,000 prize.

Yesterday’s shows literally went down in history, marking the first time ever in The Price Is Right that contestants took home a $26,000 Big Wheel bonus during the same day. Unfortunately, Zager’s luck was short-lived. While he earned the rare bonus, he overbid when it was time for his showcase, missing the mark by just $32.
