Maria Fitzsimons and Jill Slattery applied to be on The Price is Right in 2013.
Although they didn’t make it on the show, Maria did reveal the do’s and don’ts of their clothing choices.
Unlike Let’s Make a Deal, no costumes are allowed on The Price is Right.
No advertisements or logos are allowed on any garments or hats unless it is related to the show.

The Price is Right suggests not to wear white clothing as it won’t show up well on screen.
Jeans are allowed as well as props, such as tiaras or hats, but the props cannot be separate from a person’s wardrobe.
The studio is kept cold, so a jacket or sweater is advised.
“A lot of people had handmade shirts, like themed shirts, like ‘I love The Price Is Right’ or something related to the show,” Maria told The U.S. Sun.
The producers can deny entry to anyone who doesn’t adhere to the guidelines, especially since everyone will be on camera at one point throughout the taping.

WHAT THEY WORE
Maria decided to wear a red Saber-Tooth Tiger shirt with black jeans and a black leather jacket.

However, she took off her jacket when she appeared on TV.
Jill wore a black t-shirt with Pacman on it.
She had embellished rainbow suspenders, which were attached to black pants.
Jill had flip-flops on and Maria wore canvas espadrilles.
The Price is Right Hosts

The Price is Right first came on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on for over 50 years. Throughout that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.
Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)
Drew Carey – October 2007 to present
Dennis James – filled in for Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also hosted the nighttime version
Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools Day Special
No rules were given for what kind of footwear to have on.
They both adhered to the dress code but still did not get picked to spin the wheel.
CHOOSE WISELY

Maria believes that what a contestant wears affects whether they get picked to spin the wheel or not.

However, she also said that the producers interview everyone beforehand and screen them.
“Yeah, I would say it does,” she shared.
“There was a guy recently who had a Bob Barker shirt on. And Drew pretended to be offended, but he wasn’t.”
Maria shared that that was all an act after seeing how Drew acted on set.
The contestant had worn a Bob Barker shirt on Drew’s birthday.
He hosted the game show from 1972 to 2007.
They tried to cut the show off early as Drew pretended to be offended by the words “Soon-to-be legendary host Drew Carey” on the back of his shirt.

But, Drew continued on with Jeffrey’s game and told him what he could win.
The Price is Right films in California and airs weekdays on CBS at 11am EST.
