The Price Is Right’s longtime host Drew Carey was trying to lend a helping hand to a contestant on Tuesday’s episode of the fan-favorite game show when he ended up costing her a shot at the big Showcase.

Roni Gardner, from San Diego, California, was the unlucky contestant who stepped up to take a sping at the Big Wheel in order to land a spot in the highly sought after Showcase round with an opportunity to walk away with huge prizes.

The rules of the Big Wheel are to spin in attempt to get close to 100 without going over the limit. The wheel is seperated by cash values that rise in increments of five to 100.

Each contestant has a total of two spins to try and reach an overall total closest to 100 without spinning any further.

But for a spin to count, the Big Wheel has to complete one full rotation, which contestant Roni had difficulty with during the July 2 episode.

Starting with her first spin, Roni spun a 90, which is an ideal number to have put her in the perfect spot to win.

Then, Carey noted that the wheel didn’t complete an entire spin around and she had to try again, which she replied: “Oh no.”

Roni went and spun again when the wheel barely reached the halfway mark, so the 66-year-old host had to step in.

Carey asked the contestant for permission before she responded: “Yes please.”

He then helped Roni take her final spin of the wheel, which landed on 15. This score allowed her to take a second spin.

Again, the beloved host helped out, but the wheel landed on a 95, tallying Roni’s score to above 100 and ending her chances of reaching the Showcase round.

While the contestant said farewell and left the stage, Carey announced: “I’ll take the blame for that. Roni, I’m so sorry.”

Roni watched two other contestants, Brett and Erica, move on to the Showcase and take a chance at winning major prizes.

But this is not a first, as fans of the show saw the host assist a struggling couple after five unsuccessful attempts to make the wheel spin a full rotation.

The Price is Right airs weekdays on CBS.
