Who is Mama Mai on The Price is Right?
Mama Mai is the mom of The Price Is Right announcer George Gray.
As Distractify reported, George gives her a shout-out at the start of every show when he’s introducing host Drew Carey by saying, “Hi, Mama Mai!”
According to the hit television show’s Fandom page, he began doing these shout-outs in early 2014.
On April 27, 2016, George confirmed on X — formerly known as Twitter — that Mai is his mom after a fan asked about her identity.
“I have been wanting too [sic] ask you @TheGeorgeGray Who is Mama May? #comeondown,” the fan wrote.
“@TrulyJulieRokks Mama Mai is my dear sweet mom, who watches the show every day! :),” the TV personality replied.
George has repeatedly honored his mom’s birthday on The Price Is Right
On March 12, 2024, he took to Instagram to share a clip from the CBS show in which he and the audience celebrated Mai’s 88th birthday.
On February 27, 2019, the show’s Facebook page posted a video of George and the audience wishing Mai a happy birthday.
“🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAMA MAI 🎈 Your TPIR family loves you… George too 😉,” the caption said, in part.

The year prior, the page also shared a clip of George and Drew honoring Mai’s special day.
“Every morning on The Price Is Right, George Gray says hi to his Mama Mai… but today’s shoutout is extra special because it’s her BIRTHDAY! #HappyBirthdayMamaMai,” the caption said.
In addition to her shout-outs, Mai has appeared on The Price Is Right.
On May 11, 2019, the show’s Facebook shared a clip of Mai and George from the show, along with the caption, “WARNING 🚨 This Mama Mai clip contains maximum cuteness 😍.”
“When George was a baby, his first word was ‘Mama.’ But now his favorite thing to say is…” Mai began.
“Well let’s do it together, you ready?” George chimed in, addressing his mom.
“‘It’s a brand new car!'” the pair exclaimed as the audience and viewers were introduced to a new blue vehicle.
On July 3, 2019, the show’s Facebook page shared a photo of the mother-son-duo along with the caption, “Look who’s here today!!! It’s George’s mom… Mama Mai! 💓💓💓.”
George has also praised his mom on Instagram.
“At her tiny size, I have noooo idea how she does it, but world-famous Mama Mai could probably beat a pro in a breakfast eating competition! 😁👏👏👏,” he wrote in a post from November 19, 2022, in Ballwin, Missouri, that showed off Mai’s breakfast-eating skills.
In a July 15, 2020 post from Ballwin, George shared a photo of Mai, writing, “The always beautiful, semi world famous Mama Mai taking a stroll in the garden! :).”
Who is Mama Mai’s son, George Gray?
George was born in Ballwin, Missouri — a western suburb of St. Louis — on March 11, 1967.
The 57-year-old TV personality and comedian became the announcer for The Price Is Right in April 2011.
According to his CBS biography, he previously hosted programs such as the NBC game show Weakest Link and the TLC game show Junkyard Wars, the latter of which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
George “is active in philanthropic causes.” He “has been honored” to be the co-host of the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) telethon.

George grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and now splits his time between Los Angeles, California; Bisbee, Arizona; and his childhood home in St. Louis.
He graduated from the University of Arizona and has a rescued cat named Cracker Sinatra.
As Us Weekly reported, George married high school math teacher Brittney Green on April 13, 2019.
Their wedding took place at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona.
