Wheel of Fortune viewers plead with Maggie Sajak to take over instead of Ryan Seacrest

Wheel of Fortune viewers are hoping that Pat Sajak will be replaced by someone other than Ryan Seacrest.

Wheel of Fortune viewers have been learning to try and adjust to the fact that longtime host Pat Sajak is officially retired and won’t be hosting the game show anymore–and many are begging his daughter Maggie to keep the gig in the family.

Many fans have been unsure of Ryan Seacrest’s ability to fill Pat’s iconic shoes, even though he paid tribute to his predecessor after his final show.

Others have wondered what it will mean for Vanna White, but most have been worried the show won’t be the same with Seacrest at the helm.

And while some viewers haven’t loved Pat’s daughter, who has been a social correspondent on the show the last few years, and have expressed desire for her to be axed from the series, others are now hoping she will actually take on her dad’s role instead.

Those calling for the change have expressed concerns that Seacrest is too “bland” and boring to be the show’s host.

Taking to Instagram, many commented on posts commemorating Pat’s final week, admitting that they felt Maggie was a more natural fit.

“Your daughter should take over the show why does it have to be a male!” one fan said.

“Maggie should be the host!! Idk who thought Seacrest was a good fit,” another commented.

“Definitely do not feel they chose the right host if they wanted to keep the show on the air. Very disappointing,” another added.

Fans have also shared concerns over how much Seacrest would really commit to the new gig–as he’s jumped from other jobs before.

Noting that he was replacing the last iconic host that many millennials and other demographics remember from their childhoods, they felt he wasn’t going to be as committed as Alek Trebek’s Jeopardy! replacement Ken Jennings and Bob Barker’s The Price is Right replacement Drew Carey were.

“Yes, I’m not a fan. Born in the 90s it was [Alex] Trebek, Pat, and Bob Barker my entire childhood,” a fan wrote on Reddit. “And I feel like Ken [Jennings] and Drew [Carey] are in it for the long haul.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Seacrest is out in like 5 years. I want some commitment d–n it!” they added.
