Highlights
Drew Carey opens up about depression, surprising fans but receives support for his honesty.
Carey’s odd comments about Phish on a late-night show leave the audience and hosts taken aback.
Comedian Drew Carey is known for his good-hearty personality as the host of the long-running and super-popular game show The Price Is Right. In real life, Drew Carey, like many celebrities, prefers to live away from the cameras and enjoy a private life. However, the former host of the improv comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway? and practicing Buddist has also occasionally opened up about his on-and-off battle with depression, which he says he became vocal about in order to help others suffering from the same affliction.
When Carey bravely opened up about his mental health, many fans were surprised, given that he has devoted his career to making people smile and laugh, but applauded him for his honesty. Recently, Carey caused concern among his legion of devoted followers after he went on a bizarre rant on social media.
Drew Carey Went On An Odd Rant After Attending A Phish Concert
The Price is Right host and comedian Drew Carey is a massive fan of the American rock band Phish. The four-member band has been active since 1983 and recently announced their 26-date summer tour across North America. In addition to their tour, the band has a residency in Las Vegas, and Drew Carey went to see them at one of their sold-out concerts.
Like many other concertgoers, Carey shared his experience on social media. However, some fans became concerned about the former The Drew Carey Show star after he went on what many described as an odd and raunchy rant which was directed at the band Phish on the social media app X,
I swear I just talked to God. I would give you all my money, stick my d— in a blender, and swear off p—y for the rest of my life in exchange for this, Bro; I met God tonight for real. I feel like I just got saved by Jesus, no lie.
The former Whose Line Is It Anyway? host wasn’t done sharing his enthusiasm for Phish and later posted an even raunchier rant, which many outlets have deemed too explicit to print.
While some fans saw the humor in Carey’s posts, others wondered what moved him to write these things.
One fan wrote under Drew Carey’s comments on X, “Dude, how drunk were you when you wrote this?” And another fan inquired, “Are you okay, Drew? Seriously. This post seems a bit at odds with your regular tweets. I hope you’re doing alright.”
Drew Carey Goes On Another Odd Rant About Phish On Late Night Program
Drew Carey wasn’t done relaying his admiration for the band Phish and their Las Vegas concert.
According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, Carey stated on the late-night show After Midnight, produced by Stephen Colbert and hosted by comedian Taylor Tomlinson, the following about the Phish concert,
They blew my minds off so hard. I had a bunch of girls with me, and I thought to myself, ‘Is this what it’s like to [bleeped out for several seconds]?
Entertainment Weekly claimed that Tomlinson and her fellow guests seemed taken aback by Carey’s sentiments.
