Reba McEntire Opens Up About “Overlapping” ‘Happy Place’ And ‘The Voice’ Shoots

Reba McEntire may be 69, but she’s also a super busy woman. In fact, she’s so busy that two of her ongoing projects are kinda actually overlapping.

Reba McEntire Opens Up About “Overlapping” 'Happy Place' And 'The Voice' Shoots

Reba McEntire will be returning to ‘The Voice‘ for the third year in a row for season 26, and alongside this super cool gig, she’s also shooting her new TV show that sees her reunite with former ‘Reba’ co-star Melissa Peterman.

Reba McEntire Compares Shooting ‘Happy Place’ And ‘The Voice’ To Shooting ‘Big Sky’ And Doing Concerts For This Reason

While promoting the new comedy show, McEntire, Peterman and Belissa Escobedo spoke to TV Insider during their TCA 2024 summer press tour.

During their chat, McEntire revealed what it’s like joggling ‘The Voice’ with ‘Happy Place.’ “Some days [the shoots] are overlapping,” McEntire said. “But it’s so much better than two years ago when I was doing Big Sky in Albuquerque for ABC, and then flying to the East Coast for concerts on the weekend. This is a piece of cake.”

In fact it’s so “piece of cake” that McEntire doesn’t even leave the lot. “You just have to walk across the alley,” noted Peterman, who plays her best friend and bartender Gabby on the show. “The two stages are next to each other.”

With the sets so close to each other, Peterman and Escobedo shared their hopes they might get invited to make an appearance on the hit competition show that have seen stars like Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello and Kelly Clarkson appear as coaches.

Apart from ‘Happy Place’ crossing over into ‘The Voice,’ the editors of TV Insider also wanted to know if it’s possible that ‘The Voice’ could instead be crossing over into ‘Happy Place,’ say one spinning stool at the titular tavern might even double as one of those coach chairs on ‘The Voice.’

Do you think Season 26 ‘The Voice’ coaches Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg and Michael Buble would notice the difference?

As to this, McEntire shared that her ‘The Voice’ co-coaches were all for it.

“In a skinny minute, yes!” the country superstar gushed. “Snoop wants to be on the show. Michael Bublé wants to be on the show. Gwen will just come visit, she didn’t say she wanted to be on the show.”

“She’ll want to,” Peterman added. “When she comes and hangs out, she’ll want to.”

I love Peterman’s energy, so fingers crossed both worlds collide.
