Carrie Underwood shows off facial scar in throwback photo… almost a year after suffering fall that required 40 stitches
She has returned to the spotlight after revealing last year she sustained an injury to her face.
And now Carrie Underwood has shared a glimpse of the lingering scar.
The 35-year-old’s faint facial injury could be seen in a throwback photo she posted of herself filming her music video for Love Wins.
The scar was visible just below her nose as the singer posed in front of the camera, with her face artfully decorated in shades of yellow and blue glitter.
‘#FBF to filming the Love Wins music video!’ she tweeted.
It’s been nearly a year since Carrie’s scary fall, which left her needing more than 40 stitches on her face.
Back in November 2017, the singer fell down some stairs at her Nashville home. In January this year, Carrie, who also broke her wrist during the fall, revealed to her fans that she also suffered facial lacerations requiring 40 to 50 stitches.
Now Carrie is expecting her second child with husband Mike Fisher.
The songstress’ baby bump was hidden under snug layers as she made an appearance at the Sunrise AFL Grand Final Show in Melbourne, Australia on Friday.
Carrie took to the stage to perform as the headliner during the event and wrapped up to keep out the springtime chill.
Meanwhile, Carrie has opened up about the devastating three miscarriages she suffered between 2017 and 2018.
She told The Herald Sun: ‘Last year was a hard year.’
The singer revealed she wanted to be open about her heartbreak because she sings about it in her latest album Cry Pretty.
‘I needed to get that out there otherwise some of the songs might not make sense to people,’ Carrie said.
The American Idol winner added that she is planning to tour once her second child is born, with her family joining her on the road.
‘I’m just hoping this one is as easy as our son Isaiah was,’ Carrie said.
Carrie and former Hockey player Mike share son Isaiah, three, together.
