During a recent interview on Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s podcast Armchair Expert, the ‘All of Me’ singer discussed his infidelities, prior to getting married to Chrissy Teigen.

‘I did have a history of [cheating],’ he told the podcast hosts. ‘Definitely in my 20s.

‘I think what happened for me, you go through a lot of your life in your teens and I was younger than everybody in high school and college, and so I just didn’t get a lot of girls. When I started to get that attention, I loved it.’

The 41-year-old continued, adding that he escaped ‘technically cheating’ by keeping his relationships ‘ill-defined’.

‘But it was really cheating,’ he admitted. ‘I definitely was dishonest and selfish… It was happening before I was famous.’

The EGOT winter explained that the more attention he got with fame, the more he ‘took advantage of that, at that time’.

However, that all changed when he met Teigen, who he married in 2013. The couple met on the set of the music video for his song ‘Stereo’. In the video, the model stars as the singer’s love interest.

‘At a certain point, you just realise you’re happier being honest,’ he noted. ‘You’re happier being faithful and being in love with one person.

‘At a certain point, I just decided that person was Chrissy. I decided I wasn’t going to mess with somebody else anymore.’

Legend added that his life became ‘lighter’ after he met his now-wife. The couple are also parents to two children: Luna Stephens (4) and Miles Stephens (2).

‘We’ve talked about it before, but we had sex the first night and hit it off,’ the La La Land star shared.

‘We were both seeing other people at the time. There was kind of a looseness at the very beginning, but we fell in love not long after that.’

Teigen previously told Cosmopolitan magazine that after she and the singer met, then went back to his hotel room and ate In-N-Out burgers.

The father-of-two also joked that the couple’s fame also means he’d have a lot of disgruntled Twitter users if he ever put a step wrong in their marriage.

‘I feel like it almost makes it less likely that I would do anything to f*ck it up,’ he said of the pair’s popularity.

‘Chrissy has 12 million Twitter followers. If I were to do anything, it would be career suicide,’ he joked. ‘It would be terrible. It just gives you another reason to not f*ck it up.’
