Wheel of Fortune fans beg series to make major change as viewers want game show to be ‘more like The Price is Right’
WHEEL of Fortune fans have demanded show producers make a major change to the rules.
The US game show has been rewarding players with a keen sense of putting words together since January 1975.

Pat began hosting the show in 1984.
Vanna White, 67, will continue her role as letter presenter.
However, many watchers have voiced their opinions on a certain rule that should change.
If a player in the game wins a vacation not only walks home with an already-paid-for holiday, the lucky contestant is given the dollar amount of the vacation towards the game.
This could be seen as an unfair sway in who wins.
FAN REACTION
On a Wheel of Fortune-based Reddit forum, fans shared their honest opinions on the vacation wins.
“I wish the money won for trips weren’t added with their cash wins,” the original poster wrote.
One fan pointed out, “As for prizes, I wish they’d give away more than just trips.
“Maybe something like game rooms, home theaters, jewelry, and some of the stuff they give away on The Price is Right.”
“Me too!” another agreed
A third explained, “I agree with you. I’ve always hated that they do this. The person who wins a trip is being rewarded twice: They get the actual trip when the show is over and they get the cash value of the trip added to their ingame total to help pad their score.
“It’s an absolute travesty they do this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the worst player win just because the prize of the trip put them over the top. It never should have been this way.”
MAJOR MISTAKE
This isn’t the first time fans have been disappointed in the popular game show.
Back in March, a contestant named Tom won a trip to South Dakota, but viewers noticed a mistake producers made while showing off his win.

After Tom won the puzzle that gained him a vacation, Pat said, “You know, this is a really great trip you haven’t been on, we’re taking you on a tour of South Dakota!”
Cameras cut to Tom who looked like he “couldn’t be more disappointed,” according to fans.
The announcer for Wheel mentioned “iconic sights” that Tom would see in South Dakota including Mount Rushmore.
IS THAT SOUTH DAKOTA?
Tom’s winning trip cost a grand total of $7,398.

Meanwhile, fans noticed that the video showcased Devil’s Tower, which is located in Wyoming and not South Dakota.
Fans flooded X to point out the mistake.
One said, “Wheel of Fortune needs to work on their geography! The trip giveaway for the prize puzzle was a trip to Western South Dakota, and the first image they showed was of Devil’s Tower in Wyoming! Lol”
While others couldn’t stop talking about the lackluster vacation.
“This dude on Wheel of Fortune just won a vacation to South Dakota. LMAOOOO, I’d be heated.”
