Who is Reba McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock?
Shelby Blackstock was born to Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock on February 23, 1990, in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to The Daytona Beach News-Journal, the 34-year-old grew up in the Music City until age 9, when he and his mom moved to New York City while she performed on Broadway for six months.
They relocated to Los Angeles, California, when Shelby was 10, due to his mom’s television show, Reba.
Shelby stayed in the City of Angels for four years before moving to Cornelius, North Carolina, on Lake Norman, per People.
In April 2022, The New York Times reported that he lives in Nashville with his wife, Marissa Branch.
The couple wed on February 12, 2022, in front of the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World in Florida.
They have two dogs, including a husky named Belle and a corgi named Watson, per People.
Shelby is a race car driver who raced for NASCAR.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported that he began racing five months before his debut Daytona start at the 2011 Continental Tire Challenge Grand-Am 200.
“Watching Shelby on the track racing at 170MPH was the biggest rush I’ve ever had!” Reba previously wrote on her blog, according to Taste of Country.
“Congrats to Shelby on his first professional race! We’re very proud and very thankful to God for keeping him safe,” she continued.
He was also a GT World Challenge America Overall Champion in 2020.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Shelby has worked as a business development manager for Global Source Advisors since March 2020 and as a principal for B&R Developments LLC since August 2021.

In October 2022, Reba spoke with People about how “proud” she is of her son.
“I’m very proud of him. He was a kid who had ADHD and could barely read in school, and now he’s read 10 books this year. He’s always trying to improve and do better. His daddy did a great job too,” said the country star.

Reba has been married twice.
She first tied the knot with Charlie Battles in 1976, but the pair split in 1987.
Per Hollywood Life, she became the stepmother of Coty Battles when she married Charlie.
